Donate your excess medicines to people in need. A couple of minutes are enough to help someone in need. Did it ever cross your mind that your surplus medicines, could save someone’s life?
Now, it can. Join the GIVMED community. The GIVMED app has the following features: -Register your excess medicines, just by scanning the barcode found on the medicine packaging -Choose which medicines you would like to donate now and which others before their expiration date. -Check out the medicine shortages that social pharmacies and NGOs have-Decide how your donations will reach the beneficiary organisation. Deliver it by yourself or ask for our network’s help! -Create your online personal pharmacy; a list with all the medicines you have along with their expiration dates. Now you know what medicines you already have when you visit your doctor or pharmacist. -Get updates on the number of the community’s members, of the donated medicines and of their total worth. GIVMED’s impact is crucial for us.
Αccording to the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association, 57.000.000 boxes of medicine expire every year in Greece, while social pharmacies cannot accommodate their 15.000 daily requests. The mobile application extracts all medical information from the barcodes found on medical packaging, and links users with organisations that could redistribute this medication to individuals in need of them, like social pharmacies and NGOs. Social pharmacies are responsible for collecting and distributing medicines to people with financial problems, free of charge.
We bridged this gap using technology. We created GIVMED, the greek community for utilizing excess medicines.
